ABSTRACT
Cognitivism is currently the most influential trend in the philosophy of psychology. Very broadly, cognitivism is the view that the organization of behavior is to be explained by an inner mental structure. It holds the promise of offering purely causal explanations within psychology while at the same time preserving the contentful and/or logical features distinctive of our descriptions and explanations of human beings.
