ABSTRACT

To date, a number of parallel Lisp languages on shared-memory multiprocessors (e.g., Qlisp17), Multilisp12), mUtilisp10)) have been proposed and implemented. , However, the current environments for existing Lisp language systems are mostly general purpose workstations (WS’s) without sharedmemory. We have designed a distributed Lisp system that runs on commonly used environments such as UNIX, X-Window and WS’s connected via networks. The implementation of the prototype system has been successful and the performance of the system is promising for future exploration of distributed cooperative processing systems.
