ABSTRACT

The 8-C-glycoside Puerarin, an abundant isoflavone found in Pueraria lobata, displays anti-angina properties (Yang et al., 1990). Derivatives of puerarin also proved to be useful for the improvement of ocular blood flow and retinal functions and therefore could be used for the treatment of ischémic retinopathy as well as age-related muscular degeneration (AMD) (Xuan et al., 1999).
