ABSTRACT

Metro-North Railroad is a subsidiary agency of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York which provides commuter rail service to 100,000 customers per day from New York and Connecticut. Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan is the terminus of the railroad which branches out 75 miles to the east to New Haven CT and 75 miles to the north over 2 divisions to Poughkeepsie and Dover Plains, NY. We operate over and maintain 500+ miles of track utilizing 920 cars and locomotives to transport our customers. The equipment is maintained at 7 major repair shops and outdoor yards and facilities about the property. This requires a workforce of 4,440 people both union and management encompassing 240 job titles with 19 unions represented on the property.
