Radio

Coverage of AIDS issues on radio in the United States has fallen into three rough categories: Serious news coverage has been minimal and limited mainly to reports of death tolls and medical developments. Public service announcements (PSAs) have been used to spread information about HIV prevention and AIDS resources. Finally, there has been considerable and often vitriolic commentary about AIDS by talk-show hosts and “shock jocks,” focusing mainly on lurid and often inflammatory themes.
