Strengthening Psychology in Spain
José M. Prieto is a professor of personnel psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid. His interests include personnel assessment and training, as well as knowledge management within the context of new information technologies. He has been a member of the executive board of the Spanish Psychological Association (1980-1994) and the Spanish Federation of Psychological Associations (since 1995), secretary general of the International Association of Applied Psychology (1998-2006), and member of the European Network of Organizational Psychologists (since 1984). He served as president of the 23rd International Congress of Applied Psychology held in Madrid in 1994. He was also the Spanish delegate to the assembly of the International Union of Psychological Science and the European Federation of Psychologists Associations (EFPA), serving as secretary of the EFPA’s committee on scientific affairs.
