ABSTRACT
Recent developments in computer image analysis methods and the ongoing technical development in CT scanners will significantly impact diagnostic radiology. The methods in which computer analysis may assist the physician in the context of CT images of the lung are discussed with a particular focus on lung cancer. Future directions that may be anticipated once these computer methods mature are also discussed.
