ABSTRACT
The bereavement service at the Brandon Centre was started in 1994 for adolescent boys and girls aged 12 to 18 years. Mourning in childhood and adolescence can be a natural response to loss that does not require professional intervention. However, in some cases, loss can trigger a maladaptive reaction and make existing problems worse.
