Writing bodies on the nation for the globe
Nationalism in the twenty-first century operates alongside the discourses of globalism and multiculturalism. This chapter is a brief examination of nationalism within its twenty-first century global context.1 I ask you to see the nation as a complete invention, as completely mythic and unnatural. National identities and geographies shift and change. The idea of nation is a fantasmatic imagining that misrepresents the diversity that exists within the borders it names.
