Maps and mapping practices

A deflationary approach
WithSergio Sismondo

That stands in opposition to an anti-interpretive stance that sees maps simply as representations of their objects. I would like to start, though, by pointing to the potential contingency of the whole tradition of genetic mapping, a contingency that I think is connected to the main contrast I would like to draw.
