ABSTRACT
Clinical problems 1. Post-traumatic osteoarthritis. The incidence of osteoarthritis after ankle fractures is 20-40% and is related to the severity of the injury and the accuracy of its reduction. When an anatomical reduction is maintained until union, both internal flxation and closed treatment give comparable clinical results. The risk of developing post-traumatic osteoarthritis is also similar.
