Fragmentation testing Experimental blast fragmentation research in model-scale bench blasts

The blasting site of the Chair of Mining Engineering at the Styrian Erzberg was developed during a master thesis (Maierhofer 2011). After the first blasting tests with 2 m3 concrete blocks it was decided to use smaller blocks for further tests. Therefore a yoke inside the walls of the blasting site was used (see Fig. 1).
