ABSTRACT
Epidemiology is concerned, in part, with investigating the causes of disease in human populations. In psychiatry, epidemiologists study the relationship between biological or psychological factors and mental illness in human populations. Epidemiology therefore is about understanding the biology of mental illness and informing the mechanisms that underlie mental illness.
