Must not the judge of all the earth do justice? God’s nature and the existence

The goal of this essay is to review my struggle to make sense of two contradictory propositions, each of which I believe.

1 God is fundamentally loving and cares deeply about the welfare of humankind.

2 Genetic mutations arise through random chemical processes and are then, through the random process of genetic segregation, transmitted across generations and predispose to psychiatric and substance use disorders which in turn cause terrible suffering to the afflicted.
