ABSTRACT
The previous chapters provide an argument for the fundamental role that the neighbourhood plays in the creation of human communities. This chapter sets out the techniques that foster such environments, and although the terminology used to describe them may vary on opposite sides of the Atlantic, the principles for their creation remain the same.
