Physiological Attributes of Professional Players in the Singapore Soccer League

In 1996, the local soccer governing body in Singapore established its own professional league, called the S-League. The present study aims to describe the physiological attributes of a large sample group of players playing in this Southeast Asian professional soccer league. A global comparison between Asian and European-based players is relevant and may reveal pertinent information on the reason(s) behind the widely accepted view of the substantial difference in competitive standards of play between the clubs in the two regions.
