A battery of fitness assessments was administered to all players during the preseason period. In order to control environmental conditions, all testing took place in an indoor sports hall or in an exercise science laboratory. Prior to testing, each subjects underwent a 10-min warm-up period on a cycle ergometer followed by supervised static stretching of the lower limbs.
