ABSTRACT

When instructors and students search a repository to select a learning object (LO) for use, they have three questions in mind: Is it the right type? Is it the best I can find? How should I use it? Substantial effort has been spent in recent years building metadata standards and tools to assist users in answering the first question. Now, with repositories filling with thousands of objects, many dealing with similar subject matter and learning goals, greater attention and effort will turn to the second and third questions.
