Universities today need to be learning organizations in order to rise to the challenges and demands of what Barnett (2002) has called ‘an age of super-complexity’, involving overload and conflicting ideologies and pressures. Staff and educational developers have a crucial role to play here, because we work across all strata of the university to attempt to address changing needs.
