I ONE of the essential differences between Christianity and any form of Humanism is that the Christian saint feels impelled to ascribe whatever good he does to the grace of God. 'By the grace of God I am what I am .... I laboured more abundantly than they all. Yet not I but the grace of God which was with me.' (I Cor. xv. 10).
