Ad(Dressing) the Dyke: Lesbian Looks and Lesbians Looking

This article approaches the lesbian gaze from a variety of angles: the first section explores how the fashion magazine functions as a mainstream space in which a plurality of possibly deviant sexual positionings can be expressed/explored; the second addresses theories of narcissism and female visual pleasure; and the third examines the specifically lesbian pleasures offered by a series of mainstream fashion images. While the third section of this article was jointly authored, the first two parts were written by one or other of us, in the context of shared discussion.
