In recent years we have witnessed a greater interest in, and appreciation of, the importance of networking to entrepreneurial development. Much of the research has focused on established or fledgling businesses and examined the networking behaviour of the incumbent entrepreneurs in order to identify patterns of networking behaviour which increase the chances of ultimate success. Additionally, the research has been directed towards ‘businessfocused’ networks, where the networking activity is initiated solely in response to business requirements.
