For the caring person some of the foregoing chapters make discouraging reading. Given the complexities of communication with people of other races, the doubts which some of the authors have expressed regarding their need for help from outsiders and our own doubts of our ability to give help, we may be tempted to give up altogether: ‘Let foreigners and pagans look after their own, we have no right and no need to interfere.’
