ABSTRACT

To be an elite badminton athlete requires many years of constant training and refinement of specific skills. Although widely acknowledge as the “fastest” racket sport (in terms of the speed of the shuttle hit as compared to speed of the ball in other racket sports), it is the fine touch skills (particularly around the net) that differentiate badminton from other racket sports. Elite athletes will dedicate daily practice refining net skills which include “tumbling and spinning” the shuttle.
