ABSTRACT
In liquids the density decreases with increasing temperature. This will affect buoyancy. Density is increased by mineral impurities, for example a 1% salt concentration leads to a 2.3% increase in density. Density is little affected by pressure, and so a liquid is known as an incompressible fluid. A typical value for water density = 1000 kg/m3.
