ABSTRACT
Formal properties of the normal distribution belong to the core of statistical theory. Real data, however, are often skewed, multimodal, or censored (Hill and Dixon, 1982). Generalizations of the normal distribution should retain its relevant properties while dealing with the above non-normal features.
