ABSTRACT
The control of pests is a long-established public health function of local authorities. A pest may be defined as a creature that, in a particular situation, is seen as undesirable, whether for health and hygiene purposes, or for aesthetic or economic reasons. Pest control is the term applied to activities designed to identify, reduce or eliminate pest populations in any given situation.
