ABSTRACT

The last decade has seen a significant change in the information technology (IT) landscape, resulting in a fundamental shift in the activities and skills required of IT professionals and teams. The mystical stories of isolated technical programmers huddled in the basement generating code are not the driving reality. Instead, while still demanding deep technical expertise, the work of IT individuals and teams is also becoming more interdisciplinary and interpersonal in nature, requiring a broader range of skills to meet end user needs.
