ABSTRACT

Michel Foucault attracts acclaim and disdain in equal measure. This book has presented his work as a valuable and illuminating oeuvre which can be mobilized effectively to critique and make sense of the burgeoning discourses of educational leadership, management and administration. However, it would be disingenuous to suggest that this is not problematic. In this chapter some of the most common criticisms of Foucault will be raised and discussed with the intention not just of defending the Foucauldian position but also of acknowledging any weaknesses, as appropriate.
