ABSTRACT

This fragment is in Ellesmere MS. 2097, f. 38. It carries no name or date, but the authorship of Barrow is evident from the language. The series “mynistery, mynistracion, worship, ordinances and government” occurs twice. Barrow speaks of the “cathedrall and parishionall” communion. These expressions are paralleled by similar phraseology in Barrow’s letter to the Countess of Warwick, written April 4/5, 1593, and in other works of his.
