ABSTRACT
This chapter examines dissociative experiences in patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD). The chapter will present knowledge about the prevalence, aetiology and correlates of dissociative experiences in BPD. The relationship between BPD and the dissociative disorders will be discussed. The chapter will also present findings regarding the neurobiology of dissociative experiences as well as clinical implications of dissociation in BPD.
