ABSTRACT

This chapter is the first of two that will examine a series of interlinked themes concerning the relationship between partnership and business decision-making in Aer Rianta. This chapter develops a key theme outlined in Chapter 1, by examining the linkages that developed between CP and strategic decision-making in Aer Rianta, as CP was introduced across the company’s airports and departments at a time when commercial challenges of an unprecedented nature arose within the company. The next chapter examines in more detail the evolution of senior managers’ postures towards partnership and the forces that shaped management postures.
