ABSTRACT

The participation of diverse students in higher education in recent years has impacted on the way institutions have evolved and function. It is clear that in HE today, one size no longer fits all and it is not possible to teach a massified and diversified student body in the same way as the homogenous university population was taught 30 years ago. The two primary changes have been the massification (increase in student numbers) and diversification of the student body (participation by different group identities). I would argue that diversification is the most challenging change for practitioners.
