ABSTRACT
Effectively supporting a diverse student body is a complex activity that creates many challenges for institutions and those responsible within them for delivering a high-quality student experience. Some of the challenges they face are highlighted in Chapter 1. By developing, designing and implementing effective academic and non-academic support mechanisms, we can improve the progression and success of our students, the sustainability of higher education and the improved morale of staff.
