ABSTRACT

In the fall of 1957, as a newly minted Air Force officer, I arrived at the Air Force Intelligence School in Wichita Falls, Texas, full of enthusiasm and excitement. I was to spend four months there, before reporting to my first duty station in Korea. All of the students were either fledgling officers like myself, or were moving into intelligence from other career fields. Most of us already had our assignments, while others were waiting to see what fate awaited when the school ended in December. None of us knew much about intelligence, so we were eager to learn what this business was about.
