ABSTRACT
When когда means ‘whenever’ (every time that something happens or happened), both the когда clause and the main clause go into the present or imperfective past tense:
Kогда вода тёплая, мы купаемся.
‘When (whenever, if, if ever) the water is warm we go for a swim.’
Kогда вода была тёплой, мы купались.
‘When (whenever, if, if ever) the water is warm we go for a swim.’
