Conclusion: ruminations on body knowledge and control and the spaces for hope and happening

ByRICHARD TINNING

Making sense of body knowledge, education, health and physical culture is a complex task. Collectively, the authors of the chapters in this book provide a sophisticated response to the task. In particular they have interrogated how the processes of schooling have been, and continue to be, implicated discursively and pedagogically in the social construction and control of the body and the implications for this on identity, well-being and health of young people.
