ABSTRACT
Our cultural habitat has become saturated with narratives of relationships from the most intense to the most trivial, with lovers, with workmates, with friends. Through the intense focus on biographies, personalities and minutiae of the lives of the famous and not so famous, in the press, on the television and in the cinema, a new culture of the self has taken shape.
