Th is case study presents chess as a context for learning in an Australian primary school classroom with students aged 9-12. It is off ered as a model to signpost a way forward in using games as situated learning spaces. Elizabeth is a learning advisor (LA) at St Joseph’s and, at this time, Fiona was a science helper in the studio, working fortnightly with students whose passion projects were centred around science.
