ABSTRACT
Since 1980 a research on vegetable fibre cement composites was carried out as part of an effort made by Dwelling Program-THABA-of the Research and Development Center of Bahia.
The project objective is to find cheap material for dwelling components obtained by simple processes which may be easily assimilated by the users. This implies the choice of abundant natural materials like vegetable fibres available easily on the Northeastern region of Brasil.
