ABSTRACT

The introduction unfolds the necessities of a profound exploration of the phenomena of media transition in cross-genre artistic set-ups in terms of crucial theoretical and aesthetical concepts in the performing arts. With the observed interweaving of different artistic set-ups such as dance, performance, and the gallery’s/museum’s display, the introduction questions conventional demarcations between the artistic genres. In addition, it explains the importance of a multiperspectival and cross-genre approach, followed by an outlining of the subtopics developed with regard to the identified desideratum, including specific theoretical questions that are connected to a brief summary of the contributions.
