ABSTRACT

Research results are communicated as written reports, but very often researchers and students have to present their research work or projects orally at certain point. Poster presentation is another common way of presenting the work among students. It is vital that the presenter considers who the audience is. Visual aids are powerful tools to enhance a presentation and provide a stimulating addition to the spoken words. There are many different types of visual aids and the most commonly used is Microsoft PowerPoint. General principles are: use a readable font size, keep the background simple and use animations when needed. As with an oral presentation, the poster is structured with a title, an abstract stating the key findings, an introduction with clear problem statement, the methodology used a results section to illustrate the main results and a conclusion to show main findings and any future work.
