ABSTRACT

The majority of stationary and nonstationary boundary value problems for the Navier-Stokes equations do not have solutions which can be represented in analytic form even in domains with simple geometry. So nowadays the most often used tool for investigating the solution properties and obtaining concrete solutions with appropriate accuracy is the numerical simulation of the Navier-Stokes equations using computers. But in many cases the problem of constructing numerical methods and solving the resultant systems of linear and nonlinear equations is not a trivial one.
