The NYU Survey Service: Promoting Value in Undergraduate Education
Current economic conditions notwithstanding, library collections and services must still support sound teaching and learning. The academy’s needs and activities are evolving and this change requires modified or new services from libraries. It is within this context that New York University Libraries’ Data Service Studio (DSS) identified a significant opportunity to better support numeric and geospatial research. The solution required a more
expansive, less insulated, approach to the selection of the online component for our newly introduced NYU Survey Service. And the value of the service to research and learning was among the prominent underpinnings of our exploration of a resolution.
