ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses school psychologists' responsibilities as an ethical role model, along with some specific ethical considerations related to supervision in school psychology. It reviews a structured ethical problem-solving model and considers some unique ethical issues that can arise within the context of the supervisory relationship. Virtually all aspects of the National Association of School Psychologists Principles for Professional Ethics apply to the supervision of school psychology practice. Competence is a key ethical consideration for all aspects of school psychology practice, but when it comes to supervision it takes on even greater importance. Aside from practicing ethically whenever school psychologist's supervisee is within earshot, there are some practical steps they can take to be a standout ethical role model for their supervisees. School psychology is a complex field that involves balancing the needs and rights of various groups and individuals. Ethical decisions are those that can be described as principled, reasoned, and universalizable.
