ABSTRACT

Connecting with the right supervisor can create a harmonious experience for the supervisee, the supervisor, and the supervisee’s clients. Some trainees are fortunate to have their academic program assign their internship supervisor to them, while many trainees are on their own. This chapter addresses potential trainee concerns, including how to find a supervisor, what credentials, training, and level of experience are appropriate, what fees might be included in the service, and what questions to ask a potential supervisor. Addressing pertinent issues ahead of the supervisory process will help the trainee get the most out of the experience.
