ABSTRACT

Dentistry is a profession that requires high visual demand, concentration, and accuracy (Rinsing et al., 2005; Lindfors et al., 2006; Gandavadi et al., 2007). Owing to a restricted work area and the need for hand dexterity, dental surgeons eventually adopt inadequate and inflexible work postures (Gandavadi et al., 2007). Furthermore, the long time spent seated without taking breaks and the need for greater hand stability and strength result in static muscular activity that may lead to musculoskeletal disorders (Kerusuo et al., 2000; Valachi & Valachi 2003).
