ABSTRACT

The volume’s co-editors use this chapter to bring together the different concepts, ideas, and frameworks discussed by contributing authors and advance a movement-inspired lens for organizational communication. Drawing from quantum physics, we argue that movement and interconnections are inevitable aspects of social/organizational life. Next, we propose an organizational communication research agenda that hinges on continuous multidirectional flows among the objects, actions, and subjects of social life. Finally, we outline how key clusters of technological, social-ecological, and cultural-generational changes might shape future directions for the field, along this object/action/subject schema.
