ABSTRACT
In Burkina Faso in 2014, the people took to the streets to protest the presidency of Blaise Compaoré. Burkinabé theatre artists have developed ambitious plays that re-ignite the intensities of that moment for their audiences. This chapter illustrates how playwrights reinvent political theatre, sparking critical discussions surrounding their past, present, and potential future.
