ABSTRACT

The quasi-static testing of three light-gauge steel plate shear walls is described. Specimen design is based on prototype seismic retrofit designs for a hospital structure in a region of high seismicity. Infills for the specimens are made of cold-rolled steel sheets, two having a flat profile and one using a corrugated profile. Two of the specimens are shown to exhibit ductile hysteretic behavior having a minimal impact on the surrounding framing.
